The Magicard Prima 4 Duo features full double-sided printing. This Magicard printer uses reverse-transfer technology which gives the finest print quality, and is especially good for printing on contactless or dual-interface cards due to it's ability to print on all sorts of surfaces. Images are printed onto a thin retransfer film in a "reverse image" and heat transferred onto the card. The quality of the finished card is comparable to off-set litho printing, but with the advantage that every card can be different. Quality
The reverse-transfer technology in the Magicard Prima 4 Duo ID card printer is ideal for producing top quality, durable cards. The image quality of the printed card is comparable to mass produced offset litho printed cards, but with the advantage that each card can be personalized.
Re-transfer Technology
The Magicard Prima 4 Duo ID card printer image is printed from the YMCK dye film onto a clear re-transfer film in a “reverse image”, and is then laminated onto the card surface. The printed image is protected from scratching and fading by the clear film layer. In comparison, dye sublimation printers transfer the dyes directly onto the card surface using thermal transfer dye diffusion technology, followed by a thin acrylic varnish. Both methods use YMCK dye films, but the reverse transfer method used in the Magicard Prima 4 Duo ID card printer has an additional polyester transfer film.

- Magnetic Stripe Encoder: A dual coercivity HiCo/LoCo magnetic stripe encoder option which offers encoding on all three tracks with complete user format flexibility. Part Number PRIMA421.
- Bend Remedy: Patented technology allows the printer to bend the card back after printing on both sides which keeps the finished product completely flat and even. Part Number PRIMA424.
